ESPZEN Sunday League: Division 3
MOM: Rowan Baker
Goals:
Rowdie Loughlin
Both teams came into this game looking to
take away points over the holiday
weekend. Only one team managed that.
TGA missing players from all positions -
(Lev, Darren, Benji, Yohan, Jacko, Weaver,
Dom, Croll) knew this was going to be an
uphill battle… Both teams know each other
well through social banter and a previous
midweek friendly.
TGA with debutants, Rowan, Rowdie and
ladyboy Simone Jones in the squad put in a
good effort throughout the whole match..
1-1 First Half
Tigers took the lead with a break away after
the keeper saving well from Al Noel, unlucky
big man.. Break down the left wing left
sickboy in the rear mirror, with a nice cross
to back post for Richie 2step Pugh slotting at
the back post. TGA Rattled, Tigers went on
the pounce again.. this time Henry missed
from 2-3 yards.. in what could end up on
Match of the Day if anyone managed to get
it on camera!!
TGA ralled after the left of and Sunil started
holding the ball up well, new signing Rowdie
was showing his signing fee in the midfield,
putting together some nice slick passing.
On his debut the new boy played a nice one-
two to break into the Tigers Lair and smash
a low shot past the keeper who managed
only to get a finger tip to it. 1-1, another
few chances for both sides went begging..
2 Injuries for TGA in first half reduced the
squad and upset our stride.. Rowdie went
down hard and could not continue the
remainder of the game, Simon Ladyboy
Jones also picked up a knock..
3-1 Fully Time
TGAs even more depleted squad took to the
field, hoping to grind out a result, however
the Tigers upped their game and I have to
admit battered us for 40 mins in the second
half..
Gaps in our midfield, non tracking back and
giving away silly balls will always lead to a
defeat.. Rowan our new keeper had a
great game saving us on many occasions,
the penalty save was impressive and so was
his bravery coming out to the charging
strikers..
We wont let our heads go down on this one,
we put in a good shift with our patched up
team.. looking forward to the rematch later
in the season.
Good performances by, Boland, Rowan,
Rowdie, Sunil to note well done to the rest
of the team for putting in a shift..
Tom Hutton your dead to me…
Rowdie – hope your injury is just a strain
Cheers Tigers… PS I still have a pair of your
socks… will pass to Matt Sutton but don’t
expect to get them back, the ginger pikey
still has my Russell Athletic shorts!!
