TGA 0-4 Afifi

Sun, 27 May - 4:00 AM at Bedok North Secondary School

Friendly

It was a hot day in Bedok. And, as per \012usual, the majority of the squad could \012barely stand from the night before. But, we did ourselves proud (at least during the first half). Sunil has discovered the secret of getting to play up front, turn up drunk, and \012our captain Dom has discovered the secret of waking up in the morning, set an alarm. \012\012The game started with a fairly make shift TGA team with Tom H at center back and no subs on the bench. But as the game progressed and players managed to find the pitch we were able to shuffle and find ourselves in more familiar positions. The first half was fairly even, with both teams battling in the midfield and not creating much. Afifi probably had the best of the \012chances especially near the end of the half as the heat started to get to us. As a result we conceded a goal. \012\012A couple of tactical changes at half time saw TGA come back out on the pitch full of confidence. Unfortunately however, Afifi were also fairly confident and before we knew it we were defending deep and getting bombarded by their strike force. Sunil thought we were playing the post challenge for ESPN (a modified version of the crossbar challenge) and thus hit a great little strike straight at the post (that’s what happens if you allow drunk players to play upfront). \012But by this point we were already 3-0 down.\012\012Congratulations and welcome back to Neil Johnson our man of the match at right back. We have poured your pint of Java and left it in a field (no shade) until next week when we hope to see you down it. Our unbeaten streak has come to an end, but we did play the best opposition in the league. Look forward to playing you in Division 6 next \012season Afifi \012\012
