ESPZEN Rovers 11 2-2 TGA

Sun, 24 June - 10:00 AM at Cantonment Pitch

Friendly

A nice situation for TGA to be in.\012\012With our play-off position safely in the bag, we were relaxed and looking forward to a run around.\012\012Our number 2 keeper Cuong started for us upfront, but other than that, the team were mostly in their natural positions. It was especially reassuring to see captain Dom and Andy Croll back in central defence where they belong.\012\012We started off well and created a few good chances in the first 20. Unfortunately for us, nothing came of them and we began to tire. Our oppononets stepped up their game and \012slotted in 2 goals in quick succession.\012\012A half time chat and few changes later we were looking slightly stronger. \012\012Then, on the 60th minute Boland came \012powering through the middle. One look up and he hammered the ball at goal, taking a deflection off the up right and landing safely in the net. Fabulous strike.\012\012TGA were charged up now and wanting a \012win. A nicely passed ball landed at the feet of the Gazelle (Yohann) as he galloped over a few opposition players and cooley slotted home the equalizer.\012\012A near miss by Benoit almost secured a win. We’ll let him off as he was pissed.\012\012We’re clearly still missing some key players in the squad and hope to have them back for the play off. The midfield is definitely needing Kier and Tetsu back to play supporting roles and create more goal chances. Get well soon. VERY soon.\012\012Well done Rovers. A great team to play \012against. We have our eye on a couple of \012your players ;-)\012
