The first points in the bag! \012\012After travelling to the pitch in Malaysia we started the game full of promise with a wealth of talent in the team and on the touch-line. We started well, passing the ball with pace and generating a lot of space against a very fit and committed Royals side. \012Changes were made after Stevo hurt his \012knee and The Voice pulled his amstring, \012but it was great to be able to cover with TGA superstars Dom and Tetsuki. \012We were causing them all sorts of problems and it was no surprise when we took the lead with some outstanding work on the left from Nick Hughes, who, despite his mid week drinking efforts found the strength to put in a great deep cross. Tommy Hutton thought he’d scored, heading valiantly back across goal where a surprisingly un-drunk \012Sunil nodded in from all of 3 inches out and it was exactly what we had deserved. The ref took this as his cue to pull on a Royal’s shirt, but even this couldn’t stop us, and clearly buoyed b y his first goal Notani skinned the whole defence and slotted home for his second goal in 5 mins. \012It was frustrating when, 55 mins into the first half the Royals pegged one back with a well worked free kick, but we came in at the break knowing there were more goals in us. \012\012Royals came out of the blocks quickly for the second half, and pushed into the box where they were awarded a controversial penalty. There were some serious volume from the sidelines but the decision stood and was coolly put away to level the game at 2-2. \012\012TGA showed some great resolve. New CM \012dynamo Ben Morley rose like a Salmon on speed to put a rocket header on target only for a Royal’s defender to decide it was ‘scramble keepers’ and save full stretch in a save that Petr Cech would have been justifiably proud. A penalty and a red card was the result, and with hearts in mouths on the touchline Nick Hughes hardened up, held his nerve and rightfully gave us back the lead. Against 10 men it was all TGA, and some lovely football was played as we had some time on the ball. In particular Ian and Khaled were making it look easy with fresh \012legs. We were playing so well that William decided it would be funny to chip over the bar from 3 feet out, and Tetsuki felt sorry for the keeper and passed the ball back to him in a 1-on-1. We were still not finished though, and Notani worked the defence again to seal a Man-of-the-match performance with his hat-trick goal to wrap up the points. Awesome performance. Awesome \012commitment. Awesome result \012\012
