A niggly game with Sporting needing 3
points to avoid the drop and Dynamites
needing 3 to secure the title. In the end a
draw frustrated both teams.
Sporting started a man short but were up
for the challenge and managed to keep
Dynamites at bay until our substitutes
turned up. A dogged performance probably
describes it best with very little flair shown
by either side and a few lucky goals all
round. Only Jamie Tranter’s composed finish
for our second and Dynamites’ well taken
first free kick (the second was a lucky one I
think they will agree), competing for best
goal honours. An exceptional reaction save
from keeper Stark kept TGA in the hunt.
Tensions ran high which was reflected in a
lot of off the ball verbal and several
questionable challenges; we felt the referee
failed to control the game properly and both
sides were fortunate to escape yellows on a
number of occasions.
Overall a good finish to the season from
Sporting’s perspective (Dynamites will have
been very frustrated not to close out the win
at 3-1 up), we have come on greatly since
the start of the season and expect to be
challenging for honours next season.
