A scorching day which defied rainy season (until the 60th minute, when it bucketed down). Great turnout for our first game of the season, with lots of old faces and a few new ones.

First half was a fairly scrappy stalemate, with TGA playing a defensive formation to get the measure of the opposition. We move to a more attacking formation in the second half, and the extra support that Gaz was getting from a second striker and a more attacking midfield was starting to show. Unfortunately we had to go defensive again soon into the second half after Johnny picked up his second yellow card of the game.

Sitting back and trying to get a goal on the break was never going to be easy with 10 men in that heat, and the game looked like it was going to limp on top a 0-0, which would probably have been a fair result. However, Naranja managed to convert a half chance following some scrappy pinball in TGA’s box. We chased the game as best we could but just couldn’t get the equaliser.
