TGA’s final friendly before the season proper came against The Barbarians who are run by league organiser Lee Taylor., and everyone, including Lee was suffering after a monumental End of Season Awards party the night before. \012\012Aside from hangovers, the conditions were perfect. 5pm KO, immaculate playing surface and impeccable weather. We also had a superb turn out allowing us to replace quality with quality as we made the most of the rolling subs. \012\012It was two very attack minded teams on the park and chances were abundant in the opening 15. Sickboy was making a faster than anticipated come back and now he can see the ball he’s an even better player. Some great work by him on the left saw him then pick out Le Chacal who blazed over the bar when perhaps he should have scored. The Barbarians were putting some neat passes together on the left and it took some heroic defending on the line from Buck to keep them out. \012\0120-0 at half time was probably fair but we felt we had a goal in us and went out looking for it after the break. A dazzling bit of link up play between Sunil, Ben Morley and Sickboy carved the Barbarians open down the left again and having continued his run, Player of the Season Morley applied a calm finish to the move. 1-0 TGA. \012\012The Barbarians weren’t rolling over though and produced a fine save from keeper Cuong, who had to tip one effort onto the cross bar. The resulting pressure and some admittedly slack marking saw Lee Taylor in acres of space to nod home the leveller. \012\012A good game which we all massively enjoyed. The depth of the squad is going to give us a real shot at promotion again this year so let’s make it happen !!\012
