TGA 1-4 White Wolfton

Sun, 11 March - 9:00 AM at Chinese Recreation Club

Friendly

We came into this game knowing we had a \012tough opposition and excited by the fact one of their players had been banned for violent conduct.\012\012The game was off to a quick pace \012immediately with hard tackles and grunts bellowing from the pitch. The referee was very pleased with the new whistle he had been bought for his birthday, and showed he was not affraid to use it.\012\012Early into the first half, a very questionable attempt to header the ball by an opposing player nearly knocked our winger Chay Creighton out cold. Ali G stepped in while Chay mopped up the blood and prepared to come back on.\012\012Goal keeper Kefford committed himself to a challenge involving a player through on goal around the 10th minute. The ref didn’t appreciate the elegance of Kefford’s belly wiping out the poor striker and awarded Wolfton a spot kick. The Malay Pat Sharp came running up to take the kick and duely put it wide of the right post.\012\012Pumped up from this close encounter, we \012were suddenly battered by a goal rush that put us 3-0 down. White Wolfton were proving to be not only very quick and nimble but also able to take a hard tackle and also give them back.\012\012And then, with the elegance and grace of a swan, Wilkins tumbled to the ground and was awarded a penalty. He cooley slotted it on the 21st minute to begin our fight to scramble back into the game.\012\012The second half was much more even sided although no goals game from the TGA. Wolfton put one more goal on the score sheet and the whistle was blown.\012\012We have got to say thanks to Wolfton for giving us a hard game. We like those big tackles and we thrive on getting some jip back from our opponents. We look forward to our next game against you. Good luck in the league lads.\012
