‘The Grudge Match’\012\012Suffice to say, this was a heated game, \012not only due to the scorthing sun and dry pitch, but the tempers of the players.\012\012TGA came into the game desperate for a \012win, and our opponents were clearly equally as keen to grab some points.\012\012An early goal from Sean (9 mins) built our confidence and gave us the upper hand. Testski put us 2-0 up in the 22nd minute with his silky skills and spirits were high.\012\012A nasty tackle in the 45th minute gave \012SELECAO a spot kick. Kefford pulled off an amazing save, only for little Mishra to slot it past him off the rebound.\012\012Half time = TGA 2-1 SELECAO\012\012A few changes at half time seemed to have disrupted TGA a little, and we looked uneasy for the first 15 of the second half.\012\012As the timer hit 60, little Mishra mysteriously fell over and a bemused TGA watched as the ref pointed towards the spot. Once again, ‘Safe-hands’ Kefford launched himself towards the ball and saved the strike. \012Fortunately for our opponents, they were quick enough to jump in for the rebound.\012\012On the 64th minute, the ball ricocheted off Tom Hutton’s nose and Benoit knocked it in for his first TGA goal. He may be French, but he can still score goals.\012\012An incident involving kicked shins, malay profanities and an understandably upset referee resulted in the sending off of Imran. His actons have been apologised for and we thank the referee and SELECAO for being sportsmen too and apologising to us.\012\012TGA were tired, hot and gagging for a pint by the time the whistle blew.\012\012Thank you to our opponents SELECAO. You played a good game and worked well as a team and we enjoyed playing against you. We understand that TGA players are bigger and may seem threatening to the smaller and younger opponents like yourselves, so well done guys.\012
