Win or Lose, We Will Booze

TR 1-10 Tuan Gemuk Athletic

Sun, 12 October - 9:00 AM at Cantonment Pitch

ESPZEN Sunday League: Division 5

A phenomenal result for TGA, recording their biggest ever win with a 10-1 demolition of plucky TR. To their credit TR kept going and were still hustling at the final whistle GA dominated the game from beginning to end with outstanding performances across the park, but in particular by Matt Sutton, Sickboy, Lev and Daddy Morley.

Sickboy’s engine, commitment and non-stop pressure was allowing the rest of the midfield the opportunity to get forward; players like Sutton and Morley don’t need encouragement to do that. Matt was flying up and down the left wing and had easily his most productive game in a TGA shirt producing cross after cross which resulted in goal after goal.

It was Yohann opened the scoring early on after a lovely flick on by Lev put him through, and he jinked left past the final defender and hammered the ball past the gloveless TR custodian. Shortly thereafter he added a second driving the ball home from close quarters at the back post for his brace – a great start.

Daddy Ben had his dad in the crowd cheering him on, and it was either this or the recent addition of new son Rocco that was stirring him to top form. Two pin point crosses, one from Matt one from Hugsy, two effortless headed goals. Another ball in from Matt and Ben got over a difficult bouncin all and found the net again for a first half hat-trick.

But there was still plenty of time before the break and the goals kept coming. Sickboy lofted in a free kick which sneaked in just under the bar and he really deserved that goal for his display ot content with just a hat-trick though, Ben bagged another and we all walked off to the half time shade pretty pleased with the way we were playing.

The second half was more keenly contested but in fairness we could have scored a whole load more. Yohann, Benoit and the Voice all missing when it seemed easier to score. Benoit actually put the ball in the goal with a beautiful ‘ballerina’ header but it was harshly ruled out for off-side.

Lev was terrorising the TR defence and almost uprooted the post with a scorching shot after accelerating into the box. TR couldn’t handle him and he came in for some niggly tackles as the game wore on.

There was just no stopping the Morley express though and added two more to his tally taking him to 6 in the game – a double hat-trick – the highest score in a game by any TGA player ever.

Finally, double figures were achieved with Reynaldo making space for himself in the box. He had abundant time to set himself and fire off a low left foot shot across the keeper and into the bottom corner. This was his first goal for TGA, and he was too knackered to even celebrate, or perhaps he didn’t have time to celebrate as he was rewarded for his goal by being immediately substituted for Ben Weaver; getting to live his dream as a striker for the last 5 mins of the game.

Well done lads – it was a pleasure to see some of that football. I love that when I post this we’ll be back on top of the league.
